Introduction Of A Verification Fee For The Integration Of National Identification Number (NIN) In All Electronic International Passport Applications In Nigeria

The National Identity Management Commission (the “NIMC”) on the 13th of March 2023, announced the introduction of a National Identification Number (“NIN”) verification fee applicable to all Nigerian citizens applying for a fresh issuance or renewal of the Nigerian Electronic International passport. The NIN verification fee is effective from April 1st, 2023. Recall in 2021, the NIS made mandatory the integration of NIN in all Nigerian Electronic International Passports.
